CHARLIE is a modern day faith healer, a man who claims that if you let go and believe, then his power to heal is very real indeed. Living a hand-to-mouth, blue collar existence with his wife REBECCA and young son, Charlie ekes out a meager living from his “healing” sessions. With his marriage failing, and an old drinking habit coming back to haunt him, his family is brutally murdered by unknown assailants for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

Six months later, Charlie has abandoned his former life and the house his family lived in, moving through the days’ slow existence more like a ghost than a man. But then a young, mysterious girl named SARAH appears in town, and seeks out Charlie. She will become the link to his family’s murder and lead him straight to the murderers themselves, one of whom is her own brother, Luke.

Sarah’s reasons are far from insidious, but just the opposite, as she hopes to save her own brother from a deep darkness while at the same time helping to redeem Charlie from his own grief and loss of faith. Unfortunately for Sarah, bringing the two together only leads to tragic, violent consequences for all.

Many movie enthusiasts love the look of the old silent movies--the subtitles, the grainy and jumpy black-and- white film, the locked-down camera, and the over- dramatization. These features account for the charm, they say; to others, they make the film difficult to watch. Recently an effects artist decided to eliminate those obstacles in the classic 1919 horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari by remixing the movie, using the original sets as digital backgrounds. As a result, the project set a milestone, marking the first time that original sets from a silent-era film were used as backdrops that integrated contemporary actors.The director contemporized the original story and film by adding new dialog and using a new technique in on-set compositing whereby the actors were shot completely on greenscreen and composited into the originals sets of the original film.
